KlaasKids
The KlaasKids Foundation hopes to protect the children of our communities by keeping them safe from predators. The KlaasKids Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1994 in the memory of a twelve-year-old kidnap and murder victim by the name of Polly Hannah Klaas. The main idea behind the KlassKids Foundation is to give our children a better life. KlaasKids hope to be able to give local communities the best possible knowledge about known sex offenders.
KlaasKids has come up with the Amber Alert System in order to notify the people and proper authorities in the area when a kidnapping is taking place. A media alert will immediately go out if a child is reported missing, and an interruption to regular broadcasting will go into effect and alert the community. Over the radio will be a description of the sex offender or kidnapper along with the time and place of the kidnapping. The mothers and contributors of KlaasKids feel that since 95% of people in their cars listen to the radio, this will be a very effective method of catching these predators. KlaasKids also seeks to establish a registration of sex offenders known to be living in a community. This registration hopes to be another method of keeping our children safe. KlaasKids feels that it is important to understand that sex offenders are very likely to repeat their attacks on children, and that people should know about them.
KlaasKids has also promoted a Community Notification in order to keep all private and personal information about sex offenders open to the community. This method also hopes to eliminate some of the sex crimes performed by known offenders. By informing the parents and the community, KlaasKids hopes to minimize or even eliminate sex crimes altogether. KlaasKids is a charity organization dependent on donations. If you wish to donate a car to KlaasKids, you can do so by going online to CenterForCarDonations.com.
